| Over 25 years ago, Gary had a dream of operating his own technologist consulting firm. In 1983, this dream became a reality when he and his wife Valerie formed GV Bashforth & Associates Ltd. Today this firm provides engineering support services to a number of companies involved in the electrical utility industry. |

| Gary has been a member of the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC) as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) since graduating from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1974. After graduation, he worked with BC Hydro's on-site engineering team during the construction and start-up of several large hydroelectric generating stations, associated switchyards and substations. It was this education and experience that gave him the knowledge required to start this business. |

| Valerie graduated from Carson Graham Senior Secondary, specializing in secretarial services. This background knowledge, combined with her aptitude and interest in learning computer-based office support programs, makes her a key partner. Valerie's skills, dedication and perseverance provide the administrative backup this business needs. |

| To compliment Gary's and Valerie's experience, skills and expertise, GVB&A hires and contracts with qualified associates to meet specific project requirements. |

| In 1990, GVB&A was contracted by BC Hydro to update a number of technical documents at the G.M. Shrum Generating Station near Hudson's Hope in British Columbia. After working there, Gary and Valerie fell in love with this little community and decided to make Hudson's Hope their home. Today if you drive down Gething Street, you will see their office and as you continue on to Dudley Drive, you will spot their house nestled on the banks of the beautiful Peace River. |
